Weddings are one of the most important and exciting days in a person's life.  The Bride and Groom spend countless hours planning their perfect day.  At Special Occasion Sound, we understand this and want your reception to be exactly what you want. We will always put you first and treat you with respect at all times. Your wedding is a special event, and we try to customize every event to fit the Bride and Groom on an individual basis.  We do not believe in "cookie cutter" receptions.  We believe in working with you to create an evening that is not only memorable, but will have your personal touch on it.

More than just a DJ!

We actually coordinate your reception and make all announcements required. We coordinate every element of your reception with the other vendors involved. We provide all vendors with a copy of a script (sample posted below) that we create for your event.  This way all of the vendors know what YOUR desired timeline of events is and the schedule that we will follow for the evening.  This insures that the photographer is in the right place at the right time, the food is ready when you want it to be and the cake is prepped for cutting when it should be.  Worry free planning with no surprises.  We want you to be sure that when you arrive at your wedding reception, all you have to do is relax and have a fun evening with your family and friends.

What do the Bride and Groom do?

As a Special Occasion Sound client, you receive access to our online planning forum.  This section allows you to log in at your leisure and enter details of your event.  The online planning forum includes:

  • Planning Form - This form allows you to input the event information such as the Banquet Venue, Number of Guests, DJ Attire, Photographer, Videographer, etc.  You also can enter highlights of the reception like Dinner Music type, Introduction Music, Dinner style, Special Dances and so on.  Lastly, the planning form allows you to enter your entire bridal party.

  • Event Timeline - This form is used for entering the timeline of events that will occur at your event.  If you are not sure how you want things to go, don't worry we are here to help.

  • Music Requests-  In this area you will be able to search through thousands of songs to find the perfect ones for your event. There are three different types of requests. 1. Must plays are songs you would like to definitely hear. 2. Play if Possible songs are songs that you would like to hear if time allows. 3. Do Not Play songs are songs that you do not want to hear at all.  There is also a link to the Top 200 list.  This is a list that is the top 200 most requested songs of the past year.

  • Online Payment System- This is a secure payment gateway.  We accept all major credit cards.

  • Guest Request List- (if selected, we will explain this feature below) This area allows you to monitor requests entered by your guests.

Getting your guests involved.

Sometimes trying to select music for an event is hard to do and we always work with you to try to pick out music.  On some occasions though, you may want to allow your guests the ability to voice their opinion.  So we now offer an optional feature that we can add into your planning forum.  This is the Guest Request section.  The Guest Request section is a separate area where guests of your reception can log in and pick out some songs for your reception.  You are able to set the number of requests allowed by each guest and you can monitor this list from the planning forum.

What do we do? 

Prior to your wedding, we meet with you, either in person or by phone, as many times necessary to talk about your event.  We also develop your script, prepare a playlist and coordinate with all of the vendors to make sure that we are all on the same page for your big day.

Prior to your arrival, we arrive at the venue at least two hours ahead of time to begin our set up process.  We make sure that all of the equipment is up, tested and ready to go prior to any guests arriving to the wedding.  Once the equipment is ready, we change into the attire that you specify for us and go over the script. 

Upon your arrival (depending on the schedule), we get you and your bridal party lined up and ready for the introductions.  We then follow through the script, check to make sure all the vendors are on schedule and make sure that the rest of the evening runs smoothly.
